With iOS 17.2, Apple is adding some of iOS 17 delayed features. One is the ability to react with any emoji or sticker on iMessage. Apple teased this feature in a support document listing all iOS 17 features, and this one might be released later this year.

Since iOS 17.2 isn’t out yet, only developers and public beta testers can try this feature. If you’re not enrolled in the program, here’s how to do that:

• On your iPhone, open the Settings app
• Tap on General and Software Update
• Tap on Beta Updates and enable iOS 17 Developer Beta or iOS 17 Public Beta
• Download iOS 17.2 beta build

Now that you have done that, here’s how to send emoji reactions to iMessage on your iPhone:

• On an iMessage chat, tap and hold a message
• Choose Add Sticker
• You can choose any sticker from your iMessage library
• Then, a little sticker will appear on the message

If you don’t plan to run iOS 17.2 at this moment, there’s a workaround that’s been available for ages:

• Open the iMessage’s Menu
• Select Stickers, then choose the one you want to send
• You need to tap and hold, then drag and drop the sticker into a message

By doing that, you can have a similar – although not exact – way to react with a sticker. That said, your sticker might cover a part of the message, so this is not as good as actually using a tapback reaction.

iOS 17.2 is full of new features, including the long-awaited Journal app, more Apple Music tweaks, such as Collaborative Playlists, a revamp to the TV app, a new feature for the Action Button, and improvements to Memoji and Messages.

Prime Big Deal Days 2023 is October 10-11

Amazon’s Prime Day schedule has been a little shaky for the past few years. First, it was delayed until fall. Then Prime Day came a month early in June, and for the past couple of years, it was back in July again.

Launched in 2019 for iOS and Android, dark mode switches your device’s theme to one that’s easier on the eyes using darker colors like dark gray and blacks. Most of the apps you use today support these features, but if you’re looking to enable it in Snapchat, here are the best ways and do it and some helpful tips.

How to turn on dark mode in Snapchat on iPhone

• Tap the profile or Bitmoji icon on the top left corner to access your profile page.

• Next, tap the settings gear icon on the top right corner of the screen.

• Scroll down in the “My Account” section and find “App Appearance.” Click that.

• Finally, tap “Always Dark.” That’s it!

You can also just tap the Match System button in the App Appearance section and that will match your system if you already have dark mode as the featured setting for your iPhone.

Set your appearance on iPhone

Rather than having to manually switch your Snapchat to dark mode, you can set your appearance to move to dark mode at a certain time and the app will follow suit. First, you have to make sure your Match System button is toggled on in App Appearance in Snapchat.

• Open the Settings app on your iPhone and then click on “Display & Brightness.”

• Toggle “Automatic” on and then click on “Options.”

• In here, you’ll be able to choose when you want your phone to be in iOS light theme and when you want it to switch to dark. As your day goes on, it probably makes sense to switch from light to dark between sunrise and sunset. Once you pick that or the custom schedule of your choosing, Snapchat will automatically change modes based on your phone’s theme.

How to turn on dark mode in Snapchat on Android

For Android users, there’s only one way you can enable dark mode or dark theme natively, and that’s with the beta version of the app for Android users. Sign-ups are closed but we’re going to show you how to enable it in Android’s Developer mode and change your phone’s theme.

• Click on the Settings menu from either your notification bar or app tray.

Streaming

The Yellowstone series airs exclusively on the Paramount Network. But, because of streaming rights, you actually can’t watch previous Yellowstone seasons on Paramount Plus. Netflix or Hulu are also not options.

On Peacock

Yellowstone on Peacock

Peacock has exclusive rights to stream Yellowstone on demand. Although new episodes only air on the Paramount Network, you’ll be able to watch older episodes without needing a cable subscription.

1. Download the app: Peacock is available for download on Google Playstore and the iOS App store. You can also watch this on your smart TV by downloading the app there.
2. Create an account: This automatically gives you access to hundreds of binge-worthy movies and TV series, including Yellowstone. If you are a new customer, you’ll have to choose for either the Peacock Premium or Peacock Premium Plus account, as the free account is no longer an option. If you had a free Peacock account though, you are grandfathered in and can watch some content for free.
3. Watch Yellowstone Seasons 1-4: Once you’ve created an account on Peacock, you’ll be able to watch the show. You can also use the 7-day free trial of Peacock Premium to watch the show. (Maybe you can binge it fast enough and watch all four seasons in that time and not have to pay).

4. Keep holding the buttons until you see the recovery mode screen.
5. When you get the option to restore or update, choose Update.
6. Your computer will download the software for your device. If it takes more than 15 minutes, your device will exit recovery mode. Repeat steps 2-4.

The app is available on the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and the web. What makes the Find My app especially helpful is that it has an anonymous network of hundreds of millions of Apple devices that can help you locate your lost devices.

In this guide, I’ll tell you everything you need to know about Apple Find My. I’ll also explain exactly how you can use Find My to locate a lost iPhone, or any other Apple gadget you lose.

How to enable Apple Find My on an iPhone or iPad

Now that you know what the Find My network is all about, here’s how to enable it on your iPhone or iPad:

1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap your name, then tap Find My.
3. If you want friends and family to know your location, turn on Share My Location.
4. Tap Find My [device], then turn on Find My [device].
5. To see your device even when it’s offline, turn on Find My network.
6. To have the location of your device sent to Apple when the battery is low, turn on Send Last Location.

If you want to be able to find your lost device on a map, make sure that Location Services is turned on. To do this, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services, and turn on Location Services.

How to add your AirPods, Apple Watch, or Beats products to Find My

If you pair your AirPods, Apple Watch, or Beats product with your iPhone, they are automatically registered on your Find My. Check that Find My network is turned on to ensure you can find your devices even if they’re powered off or disconnected.

For AirPods Pro or AirPods Max:

1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth.
2. Tap the More Info button next to your device in the list. 
3. Scroll down to Find My network. 
4. Make sure that Find My network is turned on. 

For Apple Watch:

1. On your Apple Watch, open Settings.
2. Tap your name.
3. Scroll down until you see your Apple Watch.
4. Tap your watch name, then tap Find My Watch.
5. Make sure that Find My network is turned on

Inside the Find My app: how to use it on your iPhone

The Find My app offers three different tabs: People, Devices, and Items. In the first one, you can find friends that share their location with you or vice-versa. In the Devices tab, you get all your Apple devices and your family members’ devices. Last but not least, the Items tab shows your AirTag items and third-party accessories that support the Find My network.

How to add an AirTag

1. If your AirTag is new, remove the wrapping around the product and pull out the tab to activate the battery. Your AirTag will play a sound.
2. Hold your AirTag near your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, then tap Connect. If you have multiple AirTags and see “More than one AirTag detected,” make sure only one AirTag is near your device at one time. 
3. Select an item name from the list, or select Custom Name to name your AirTag and choose an emoji. Then tap Continue.
4. To register your AirTag with your Apple ID, tap Continue again.  
5. Tap Done. 

How to add a third-party product

1. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to begin the connection process.
2. Open the Find My app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
3. In the Items tab, tap Add New Item.
4. Follow the onscreen steps to name it and register it to your Apple ID. 

Once you’ve successfully added your item, you can see it on the map, play a sound if it’s nearby, enable Lost Mode, and get notified when it is found, depending on which features your item supports.

If you’ve lost or misplaced an Apple device or personal item, use the Find My app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with the latest version of iOS or iPadOS or Mac with the latest version of macOS signed in with the same Apple ID.

1. Open the Find My app.
2. Choose the Devices or Items tab.
3. Select the device or item to locate it on the map. If you belong to a Family Sharing group, you can locate the devices in your group.
4. Choose Directions to open its location in Maps.

If you turn on Find My network, you can locate your device or item even if it’s not connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network.

Some iPhone models, such as the 12 or newer, can be located even when powered off. AirTags and AirPods Pro 2 also can be found at any time, thanks to their U1 chip.

What happens if you activate “Mark As Lost” for your device?

“Mark as Lost” remotely locks your missing iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac with a passcode, keeping your information secure even if your device goes missing. You can also display a custom message with your phone number on the Lock Screen and keep track of your device’s location.

What happens if you turn on Lost Mode for your item?

When you turn on Lost Mode for a personal item with an attached AirTag or a supported third-party product, you can share a message with your phone number or email address. If someone finds your AirTag, they can see the message by tapping and holding the top of their iPhone or NFC-capable smartphone to the AirTag to open found.apple.com.

If someone finds your supported third-party product, they can open the app on their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, choose the Items tab, tap Identify Found Item, and select the item from the list to see your message. 

What happens if you erase a device?

When you erase your device, all of your information (including credit, debit, or prepaid cards for Apple Pay) is deleted from the device.

If you erase a device with iOS 15, iPadOS 15, or later installed, you can use Find My to locate the device or play a sound on it. Otherwise, you won’t be able to locate or play a sound on your device after you erase it. You might still be able to find your Mac or Apple Watch if it’s near a previously-used Wi-Fi network.

It’s 2023, and it should be easy by now to print black and white documents from a Mac. In this guide, you’ll learn how to do exactly that. Plus, I’ll cover some troubleshooting options in case your printer is not working as expected.

Step-by-step procedure for printing in black and white

If you’re running macOS Ventura 13, it shouldn’t be hard to print in black and white as long as you follow these steps:

1. With a document open on your Mac, choose File > Print, or press Command-P.
2. The Print dialogue opens with a preview of your printed document.
3. Disable the Print in Color section – or check the Black & White box.
4. Click Print.

From the print screen, you can select a few other settings, such as:

• Presets: Choose a preset for the printer to use with your document. 
• Copies: Specify the number of copies you want. To print all pages of a document before the next copy prints, click Paper Handling, then select “Collate Sheets”.
• Print Range: Specify the pages you want to print. You can print all pages or select a range of pages. For example, you can print pages 6 to 9 of a 10-page document. You can also print a selection of pages in the range using the Selection button. Click the page label in the Preview sidebar to select the page for printing. Pages in your selection don’t have to be in a continuous range. For example, you can select to print page 2 and page 4 in a 5-page document.
• Double-Sided: Choose On from the Double-Sided pop-up menu to print on both sides of the paper (also called duplexing or two-sided printing) if your printer has this capability. You can also choose On (Short Edge) to set the document to print ready for binding at the top of the page.
• Paper Size: Choose a paper size for your document. For example, choose A4 when the printer is loaded with 210x297mm paper.
• Orientation: Click the buttons to switch between portrait or landscape orientation. The change in your document appears in the preview pages in the sidebar. 
• Scaling: Enter a percentage of scaling to adjust the printed image to the paper size. The change appears in the preview pages in the sidebar.

How to create a black and white preset to print with the Mac

You can save frequently used print settings for routine printing on Mac. Here’s how.

• With a document opened, click File and then Print from the menu bar.
• Choose Black & White printing.
• Select the other settings you want to use in black and white and then click the Presets drop-down menu.
• Click Save Current Settings as Preset.
• Create a name for your preset.
• Choose between saving the preset for All Printers or Only This Printer.
• Click OK.

How to troubleshoot printing on the Mac

After years of waiting, WhatsApp has finally released a new version of multi-device support. Starting today, users will get the ability to set the same WhatsApp account on up to four phones, whether it’s an iPhone or an Android device.

According to a blog post, each linked phone connects to WhatsApp independently, ensuring that your personal messages, media, and calls are end-to-end encrypted, and if your primary device is inactive for a long period, we automatically log you out of all companion devices.

WhatsApp says linking phones as companion devices make messaging easier, so you can switch between phones without signing out and pick up your chat where you left off. For small businesses, additional employees are now able to respond to customers directly from their phones under the same WhatsApp Business account.

The company says the update has started rolling out to users globally and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks. In addition, WhatsApp says that in the coming weeks, it will be adding an alternative and more accessible way to link companion devices by letting you enter your phone number on WhatsApp web to receive a one-time code rather than having to scan a QR Code.

Here’s how to link your WhatsApp account to a different iPhone or Android device

First of all, make sure you have the latest WhatsApp version downloaded to your iPhone or Android device, then follow the steps below.

On Android:

• Open WhatsApp on your primary phone
• Tap More options
•  Linked devices > Link a device
• Unlock your primary phone:
• If your device has biometric authentication, follow the on-screen instructions.
• If you don’t have biometric authentication enabled, you’ll be prompted to enter the pin you use to unlock your phone.

Point your primary phone to the screen of the device you want to link to scan the QR code.

On iPhone:

• Open WhatsApp on your phone. Go to WhatsApp Settings
• Tap Link a Device.
• Unlock your iPhone. If you’re on iOS 14 or older:
• Use Touch ID or Face ID to unlock.
• If you don’t have biometric authentication enabled, you’ll be prompted to enter the pin you use to unlock your phone.

Point your iPhone at the screen of the device you want to link to scan the QR code.

If you own AirPods or AirPods Pro, sometimes you need to factory reset the wireless earbuds due to bugs, a delay, or because you want to give them to someone else. Whether it’s due to connectivity, charging, or audio issues, it’s easy to factory reset your AirPods.

How to factory reset AirPods or AirPods Pro

1. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and close the lid.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Open the lid of your charging case, and put your AirPods in your ears.
4. Go to Settings > Bluetooth. Or go to Settings > [your AirPods].
   • If your AirPods appear there as connected, tap the More Info button next to your AirPods, tap Forget This Device, then tap again to confirm.
   • If your AirPods don’t appear there, continue to the next step. 
5. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and keep the lid open. 
6. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds until the status light on the front of the case flashes amber, then white.
7. Reconnect your AirPods: With your AirPods in their charging case and the lid open, place your AirPods close to your iPhone or iPad. Follow the steps on your device’s screen.

AirPods can only be associated with one Apple ID. If you want to use AirPods 3 or AirPods Pro that someone else has used, they first need to remove the AirPods from their Apple ID.
